Insurance Information

Insurance companies generally will not have a problem with any installed fireplace or wood stove as long as it has been installed and inspected by a W.E.T.T certified professional installer. These installers follow a very specific set of guidelines set out by the Canadian government and are followed by W.E.T.T installers.

Below is a chart outlining how different types of stoves have different insurance premiums and different cost of heating. Remember that some stoves may have a higher insurance premium but will have a lower cost of heating and vise versa. This chart is ONLY A GUIDELINE and is not meant to be an exact representation of what your insurance company may require or request.
