More About Our Service Packages
First Time Gas Cleaning & Diagnostic
Just bought a new house and need your gas fireplace inspected? Have a unit that isn’t working anymore? Just need a cleaning? Haven’t had Nordic Energy service your fireplace before? Not really sure what you need? This is the package for you! Here’s what’s included:
Installation Inspection
Every time we see a fireplace for the first time, our licensed gas technician will conduct a thorough inspection of the installation. The inspection checklist covers every aspect of the installation to ensure full compliance with local codes. The safety of your family and home is our top priority. We’ll report any concerns, and let you know if any changes are required.
Full Appliance Refresh
After the inspection, a complete cleaning of your fireplace will be conducted. Dust, insects, hair, soot, cat toys, and other debris can build up over time affecting the performance, safety, and overall appearance of your fireplace. We’ll have your unit looking and running like new again.
Some things we’ll clean include
- The Glass
- Firebox
- Logset
- Burner
- Pilot flame assembly
- Valve cabinet
- All visible surfaces
- Blower
We can even do minor touch ups with high temperature paint if required.
We’ll replace the batteries in any remotes and receivers that your unit may have to make sure they’re ready to go for the next heating season.
Fireplace Health Analysis
As a part of the cleaning, we’ll be taking some things apart and performing a health analysis on the individual components. These mechanical pieces wear out over time. We’ll report these changes to you so you have an idea of the general health of your fireplace. We will also make recommendations for which parts may be wearing out, and if anything should be replaced soon.
Diagnostic & Repair
Sometimes, parts are in rough shape, or have stopped functioning altogether. Our skilled technician will troubleshoot to find the defective part, identify the root cause (if not just normal wear and tear), and will advise you of the best course of action to get your unit back up and running.
Our service trucks are fully stocked with the most common replacement parts, and we’re often able to perform a same-day repair. We aren’t able to stock EVERY part however, so after putting your unit back into a presentable shape, we may have come back for a return visit once the replacement part has been ordered in. We will present you with a quote of the replacement part first, and will always get your consent before proceeding with a repair. View “Return Visit” below for more info about this process.
Operational Tune-up
Once the fireplace has been fully cleaned and reassembled, your technician will ensure proper operation of all the systems in your fireplace. He’ll tweak the adjustments to get the fire burning just right for optimal safety, efficiency, and flame appearance.
Your Service Worksheet Report
Our technician’s service checklist serves double purpose as a work report for your records. After the service, you’ll receive a copy of all work conducted, including pictures, measurements, and all comments collected. This is just another way in which we aim to serve you the best!
Previously Serviced Cleaning or Diagnostic
If you’ve already had Nordic Energy service or clean your fireplace in the past, that’s excellent! We have 2 service packages designed just for you!
Previously Serviced Gas Cleaning
Our Previously Serviced Gas Cleaning package is for routine annual maintenance on an appliance which is still working properly. If there is nothing which needs troubleshooting or fixing, we focus our entire visit on ensuring the deepest clean, and the maximum performance of your fireplace.
You’ll get the full service from the First Time Gas Cleaning & Diagnostic except for the Installation Inspection (we completed that on our first visit), and if any repairs are needed, we have the Previously Serviced Gas Diagnostic package for you. These 2 packages are very similar but we prioritize the work a little differently to ensure you get the result you’re looking for.
Previously Serviced Gas Diagnostic
If we’ve visited your fireplace before, but you’re experiencing issues with it, this is package for you!
For the same price as a full cleaning we’ll prepare ahead of time all the parts which we think may be causing your issue, and will start our visit by troubleshooting the problem. Once the issue is diagnosed, we’ll present our advice for the fix, get your consent before beginning any repair, and we will conduct the repair to get your fireplace back up and running.
Sometimes, parts which we don’t have in stock are required, so a Return Visit may be needed. We’ll let you know what the quoted price is for the part, get your approval, and we’ll get it ordered for you as soon as possible.
After the repair has been completed, we won’t just pack up and leave right away. We’ll use all of our remaining time to get as far down our cleaning checklist as possible. This ensures that your fireplace doesn’t just work its best, but it also looks its best.
Return Visits
We take pride in stocking our trucks with all the most common replacement parts for all the fireplaces found around Greater Sudbury. However, since it’s impossible to stock every part for every fireplace we might encounter, we sometimes have to order parts in. If this is the case, we have a separate rate for coming back to finish up your repair and get your appliance back do doing its job; warming your heart, and your home.
After locating the replacement part and acquiring your consent, we’ll keep you updated on the status of your part order. We’ll contact you to schedule our tech’s return visit as soon as the replacement part is in our hands.
How To Book Servicing
Scheduling your fireplace servicing is simple! You can call us directly to schedule your servicing, or if you prefer, you can prefill your information in our Service Request Form, and our service coordinator will reach out to you via your preferred contact method to complete the booking.
Bonus tip:
For the most prompt and flexible service, we always recommend having your fireplace cleaned near the end of the burning season. This ensures your appliance is ready to go for the Fall, and allows you to completely skip the Autumn rush. Book annually between January and June to take advantage.
