WOOD BURNING FIREPLACE INSERT

A wood insert increases the efficiency of an old drafty masonry fireplace but satisfies the desire for a real fire with the crackle, smell and ambiance. It can also update the look of your fireplace. Whether you are looking for a classic appeal or a touch of modern flare, there are inserts to suit.

What is an Insert?

These products are installed into an existing masonry fireplace. Undergoing this update can bring your efficiency from 5-10% up to 80%.

How Does an Insert Work?

These models are essentially high-efficiency wood stoves designed to fit into your masonry fireplaces. This greatly decreases the amount of heat that is sent up the chimney or absorbed by the masonry.

They do not allow heat to be lost to the chimney. It has been found that when temperatures reach below zero outside, as they commonly do in Sudbury, a masonry fireplace will actually send more heat out of the room than in! The large ceramic window of an insert prevents air from going into the fire box and up the chimney while still providing you with an excellent view of the fire.
